Red Rice (Man Pu Rice)

Red Rice, known as Man Pu Rice, is a traditional rice variety characterized by its distinctive reddish bran layer, resembling the color of crab fat. It is classified as brown rice or partially milled rice, retaining its natural bran layer. This rice contains a similar fat content to brown rice, which is approximately twice as high as that of polished white rice.

Man Pu Rice is rich in carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A, at levels significantly higher than those found in polished rice.

This red rice variety is highly nutritious, containing carbohydrates, healthy fats, protein, phosphorus, iron, as well as copper, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin B2, and vitamin C in substantial amounts.

Health Benefits:

Man Pu Rice may help support heart health, reduce fatigue and muscle weakness, relieve swelling of the hands and feet accompanied by skin rashes, and help prevent insomnia. It also aids digestive health, helping to relieve bloating, gas, and intestinal discomfort. For elderly individuals, regular consumption is especially beneficial. However, as red rice is more difficult to digest, it is recommended to cook it as rice porridge for easier digestion.

Additionally, Man Pu Rice is an excellent natural source of iron, making it highly beneficial for women with anemia.
